Why I write this article
Along the way I receive questions from people that consider studying one of Robert Scheinfeld's books or courses, but are in doubt because they've seen some criticism of his work on the Internet. Also I receive suggestions for articles and writing about this topic was one of them.
And why not - let's take a look at it and see where it takes us.
It will not be an "objective" point of view, in that I am personally involved in Scheinfeld's work - I do walk the Busting Loose path, and also coach others in doing so.
On the other hand, this also means that I really know what I'm talking about here. I'm not talking Busting Loose theory - I'm talking about the path as I experience it, both in my and other people's lives.
The thing is, committing to a path as much as I do takes complete trust in it. As far as I'm concerned, that trust cannot be based on turning my back to criticism or doubts - it's based on being open to it and also understanding where the criticism and doubts possibly come from.
I hope this article clarifies things a bit. My intention is not to convince you about anything - it's rather supporting you in taking the choice that's right for you. Whether that means you choose the Busting Loose path or not doesn't matter to me.
With this i mind let's take a look a the criticism itself:
What is being criticized?
From what I've seen the criticism of Robert Scheinfeld's Phase 2 work consists of one or more of the following assumptions:
- "What this material promises is not possible to achieve"
- "If you follow Scheinfeld's suggestions you will turn into a selfish and cold person"
- "If you follow Scheinfeld's suggestions you'll end up broke and your life torn to pieces in every possible way"
- "This is just another marketing scheme designed to make the author money"
Where does the criticism come from?
Fear
If you look at the above, you'll see that the basic emotion in the above is fear:
- Fear of disappointment
- Fear of becoming a "bad person"
- Fear of somehow destroying the life you have
- Fear of being taken advantage of, financially and otherwise.
It so happens that fear has been a major issue for most of my life, so I'm certainly not going to in any way to disregard or ridicule such fear. I know that it feels very real and it's a strong emotion. I do respect that.
But it's supportive to see what it is - because fear and truth don't go well together. The world you see through the emotion of fear is strongly colored by that emotion.
And, most people who feel such fear can come up with a lot of good reasons for it. If you've experienced any of the above in your life - as most people have - you have been hurt, and possibly hurt badly. You don't want to experience that again.
Resistance to new ideas
Jack Canfield, in his foreword to the Busting Loose From The Money Game book says something that really put the criticism into perspective:
"When the time comes for an old set of beliefs and assumptions to give way to a new one, it always starts out with a single individual saying "No, that's not right. This is what's true." Invariably, that individual is resisted, criticized, even attacked viciously. But a few people still listen and see The Truth, then a few more, then a few more, until it reaches a critical mass. Then the old way of thinking collapses and the new way of thinking explodes into mass consciousness.
My prediction is that the transformational insights and Busting Loose Process you're about to discover will be the start of a revolution that ultimately collapses the old beliefs and assumptions about abundance and The Money Game and creates a worldwide explosion of new possibility and opportunity".
Not everything is for everybody
Finally there's this very simple fact, that whatever method, program, path, book you take there will always be those who resonate with it and recommend it, and those who don't resonate with it and don't recommend it. That's only natural. So in that sense you can't count on neither opinions. All you can count on is your own gut feeling. More about that in the final advice here.
Some answers to the criticism of Scheinfeld's Phase 2 work
With all the above in mind I'd like to simply take a look at each of the above ideas and comment on them:
Will you get disappointed?
This is an interesting question really. Because the answer depends on your expectations.
Do you expect that you will bust loose from the money game (or any other game) within a few weeks or months? Or by just reading the book or watching the DVDs? Then yes, you will probably get disappointed.
If however you study the material, and then follow the simple guidelines and use the Busting Loose tools consistently, for as long as it takes (expect it to be a few years - not days or months) then you won't be disappointed. On the contrary - you will experience transformations that will amaze you beyond anything you may imagine.
Will you become selfish and cold?
Nothing could be further away from the truth. The Busting Loose path is all about opening up to your real Self, who you really are. And who you really are is what some people call your Soul, God, Higher Self, Essence, Infinite Consciousness, the One. It is a state of consciousness in which there is nothing but unconditional love, nothing but joyfulness, nothing but wisdom and peace.
Recognizing that the world around you is an Illusion does not mean detaching from it, or turning your back on it, or not caring about it. On the contrary, it means realizing that it's all you and naturally embracing it with ever expanding love and appreciation.
Will you destroy the life you have?
The answer to this question depends completely on what you mean by destroy and how your busting journey unfolds - which is unique for each and every person:
You will without doubt transform the life you have. How that looks in your life no one can tell you beforehand.
For many people the transformation is relatively subtle and gradual. Their financial situation, their jobs, their emotional life, their relationships, their health go through different stages and gradually become more and more enjoyable so to speak.
For a few people the transformation can be more dramatic and can include serious challenges such as temporary loss of a significant relationship, a job, money, health or home. They are, as I said already, temporary and do eventually lead to busting loose and thus in a sense getting it all back again only in a more joyful and abundant version.
And, I must remind you here that such losses do take place everywhere - it's not a special characteristic of the Busting Loose path. :-)
The difference is that with Busting Loose tools you can go through such challenges with perfect support and relative peace in mind - that's hardly ever the case in general.
Will you be taken advantage of financially or otherwise?
Again I must say that nothing could be further away from truth. Robert Scheinfeld really has busted loose from the money game - he does not need your money and the idea that he wants to take advantage of you or anyone else is absurd.
I've studied his material, read his forum answers, listened to his discourses, and participated in his coaching conferences for almost 3 years now and all I see is a man that is completely honest, totally dedicated to supporting his students and clients and extraordinary generous.
There have been a couple of people who have purchased his material and then decided not to do the work after all, and so came up with such accusations. As I see it, they make Scheinfeld responsible for their own choices. And, again, such accusations come from old experiences of fear and pain - they have nothing to do with reality.
An important advice
If you're still concerned about the criticism of Robert Scheinfeld's work, then basically it means that you're in doubt if it's worth taking the risk so to speak. I understand that. Busting Loose is a big step - maybe one of the most important steps you will ever take. My best advice to you therefore is:
- View the profound introductions to the home transformational systems - they will give you a very good impression of what this is all about. See if you resonate with it.
- Follow your gut feeling! If you don't feel like going there don't. Choose something that you resonate with instead.
If however busting loose feels right then definitely go for it - you're going to love it.
